Generally speaking, the app runs smoothly without any hiccups, allowing you to access, copy and paste, and update passwords quickly without any issues. On the downside, it does lack the kind of customization that other apps in this category offer, such as labeled account types of icons. The free version of Index works essentially as a demo, allowing you to save only five accounts before requiring an upgrade from the in-app purchase menu. Still it does give you a good sense of what the paid app can do so you can see if this is the right fit for you. Index is a privacy app for the iPhone that offers protection for your photos and passwords. Its interface is not as intuitive as some other privacy apps but once you get the hang of it, there is quite a bit you can do. It's just a matter of determining how you want to organize your information as you store it to the app. When you open Index for the first time, you'll need to choose a master password. Unlike some other privacy apps, you need to choose a password and not just a pin. Of course you can choose a password of four numbers if you want, so added security is strictly optional, but we recommend you take advantage of the extra layer of protection with a longer password. The interface offers numerous options, as well, and none are clearly labeled so it will take a bit of time to determine how best to organize and lay out the features you have. Once you do, however, the interface is very intuitive, providing everything you need to drag and drop icons into the well, change them, and save them to the system settings in just a few, quick clicks. With preloaded icons to choose from, easy-to-use updating tools to find more, and a swap in and out process that takes only seconds (with a very useful restore tool if you ever want to go back to the way Index were), this is a powerful icon-customization app. If you are tired of the same old Apple look on your Index or laptop, consider checking out Index. The app comes as a free trial with a $29 upgrade fee after the trial period expires. You can test all of the features in that time, however, and customize quite a bit of how your machine looks, making it well worth the download and test. Index for Mac is designed to back up every file on your computer actively while you work. With a fairly streamlined setup process, straightforward lists of options, and a decent free account size, Index works as a solid alternative to backup cloud solutions, though it does lack some of the flexibility you'll find in those other services. After installing Index, it will run a quick scan of your computer. The speed will depend on the size of your hard drive and how full it is. We tested this on a 500GB MacBook Pro drive with about 240GB of data stored on it and it took 15 minutes to scan, so the process is relatively
